The Primrose Friends: Make Good Friends

The Primrose Friends are the beloved puppet characters used in Primrose preschool classrooms to teach character and kindness. We built a video, social, and online content campaign around a single creative idea: Make Good Friends—short stories about the everyday ways little ones can be a good friend, and the ways good friends treat each other in return.

Each Primrose Friend already had a signature character trait, so we scripted a storyline for every puppet that let that trait take the lead: Megy's curiosity, Billy's love of music, Katie's teamwork, Ally's thoughtfulness, Benjamin's preparedness, and more. The result is a series parents and kids can watch together, episode by episode. It was as rewarding as it was humbling to build out such a tactile world of make believe—I never expected a second career as a blue felt bunny or a blooming sunflower. The series was written and shot throughout the pandemic with director Rob Gregory, who brought the real-life puppetry magic to every frame.
